Visivra review: does the Ocular Support & Visual Clarity Matrix hold up?

Does Visivra's Ocular Support & Visual Clarity Matrix really support clearer vision?

According to the maker, Visivra's "Ocular Support & Visual Clarity Matrix" combines lutein, zeaxanthin, bilberry, astaxanthin, zinc and vitamin A to support visual clarity, retinal health and less eye strain. Lutein, zeaxanthin and zinc are in the formula the National Eye Institute tested for slowing intermediate macular degeneration, but the maker does not publish how much of each ingredient Visivra contains, and we found no study on Visivra itself. Visivra costs $49 to $79 a bottle (30 capsules) on the official site, with a 60-day money-back guarantee.

  • A daily eye supplement in capsules, 30 per bottle
  • 6 named ingredients: lutein, zeaxanthin, bilberry, astaxanthin, zinc and vitamin A
  • Sold for visual clarity, retinal health and eye strain, according to the maker
  • 60-day money-back guarantee on every pack

This review is based on the maker's sales page and order page (prices checked on Nov 5, 2026), the bottle photos shown there, and the eye health research linked in the sources, checked on Nov 5, 2026. Benefits and claims are as described by the maker. The maker does not publish a label with the amount of each ingredient. We have not tested Visivra. It is not medical advice. How we review

Why do eyes feel tired and less sharp as the years and the screen hours add up?

Your eyes burn after a long day at the computer. Small print looks softer than it used to. Many people reach their 40s and 50s with both at once and wonder if something is going wrong inside the eye.

Two different things are often mixed up. The first is screen strain. The American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) says people normally blink about 15 times a minute, but only 5 to 7 times a minute at a screen, which dries and tires the eyes [9]. It is real discomfort, and it usually goes away with rest.

The second is age-related change in the retina. The National Eye Institute (NEI), part of the NIH (National Institutes of Health), says age-related macular degeneration (AMD) "can blur your central vision", is more likely from age 55, and is more common in smokers and people with a family history [2]. Rest does not fix it, and only an eye exam finds it early.

Visivra speaks to both worries. Which promise has research behind it is what this page checks.

What is Visivra, and what is the Ocular Support & Visual Clarity Matrix?

Visivra is a dietary supplement in capsules. The bottles read "30 Capsules" and "Dietary Supplement", and each bottle is sold as a 30-day supply, which points to one capsule a day. The maker's page lists a "Correct Dosage" section in its contents, but that section is missing, so check the bottle label.

The maker calls its idea "The Ocular Support & Visual Clarity Matrix": "optimized ocular nutrition and reduced oxidative stress are essential for healthy vision". According to the maker, its ingredients "work synergistically" to:

  • Support visual clarity and healthy retinal function.
  • Reduce oxidative stress linked to eye fatigue and age-related vision changes.
  • Help defend the eyes from blue light and ease daily eye strain.

Those are the maker's words, not tested results. The sales page is written as a "review" ("Our in-depth analysis uncovers the truth"), but it is the maker's own page, with order buttons. It also says its statements have not been evaluated by the FDA.

What is in Visivra, and what do the eye studies say about each ingredient?

The maker names six ingredients but shows no supplement facts label, so the amount of every ingredient is unknown. For eye supplements that matters: the research that counts was done at exact doses.

Lutein and zeaxanthin, the core of the matrix. These yellow plant pigments gather in the macula, the center of the retina used for sharp vision. A review in the International Journal of Retina and Vitreous says they "work as a filter protecting the macula from blue light" and act as antioxidants, and that taking them by mouth raises their level in the macula [6]. So the blue light and oxidative stress parts of the maker's story have a real basis.

The key test in people is AREDS2, run by the National Eye Institute, with 10 mg of lutein, 2 mg of zeaxanthin, 80 mg of zinc, 2 mg of copper, 500 mg of vitamin C and 400 IU of vitamin E a day. The NEI says these supplements "may delay progression of intermediate to advanced AMD". People who took lutein and zeaxanthin instead of beta-carotene had an 18% lower risk of advanced AMD. But the NEI also says: "There was no benefit for people with early AMD or for people who do not have AMD" [1]. A Cochrane review found no evidence either way for lutein and zeaxanthin in preventing AMD [3].

Visivra shares lutein, zeaxanthin and zinc with AREDS2, lacks the vitamin C, vitamin E and copper, and publishes no amounts. It is not a substitute for AREDS2 if a doctor prescribed it.

Lutein · Amount not publishedFilters blue light in the macula. 10 mg a day was the AREDS2 dose; no proven benefit without AMD. [1]
Zeaxanthin · Amount not publishedWorks with lutein as the macular pigment. 2 mg a day was the AREDS2 dose. [1]
Bilberry extract · Amount not publishedThe NCCIH says bilberry has not been clearly shown to help any condition, and rigorous studies found no night vision benefit in healthy people. [4]
Astaxanthin · Amount not publishedAn algae pigment. One small 6-week trial of 9 mg a day found a benefit after screen work only in people over 40. [5]
Zinc · Amount not publishedIn the AREDS formula at 80 mg a day. Too much over time can lead to copper deficiency, according to MedlinePlus. [8]
Vitamin A · Amount and form not publishedNeeded for seeing in low light. Too much builds up in the body, and large doses in pregnancy can cause birth defects. [7]

Can Visivra really reduce eye strain from screens?

This is the promise most readers care about, and its evidence is the thinnest part of the matrix.

Astaxanthin. A trial in the Journal of Clinical Biochemistry and Nutrition gave 9 mg of astaxanthin a day or a placebo for 6 weeks to 59 adults with eye fatigue from screen work. Across the whole group, sharpness of vision after screen work did not differ. In the 22 people aged 40 or older, it was better with astaxanthin. An astaxanthin supplier paid for the trial [5]. A small signal, not proof.

Bilberry. The NCCIH (National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health) says night vision studies have had conflicting results [4].

Blue light. Lutein and zeaxanthin do filter blue light inside the eye [6]. But the AAO says "There is no scientific evidence that the light coming from computer screens is damaging to the eyes", and that screen strain comes from blinking less [10].

In plain terms: for tired eyes after screen work, the free habits below have better support than any capsule. Visivra may be a reasonable extra to try under the guarantee, especially over 40.

What to expect from Visivra, week by week

The maker gives no schedule of results, and the one astaxanthin trial measured at 6 weeks [5]. So here is a plan to test Visivra fairly inside the 60-day guarantee, not a promise.

WhenWhat to doWhy
Before you startGet an eye exam if you have not had one recently, and mention any central blur or wavy lines.AMD and other eye diseases need an exam, not a supplement.
Day 1Read the label for the dose. Score how your eyes feel after 2 hours of screen work, from 1 to 10.The label is the only place the amounts may appear. The score is your starting point.
Weeks 1–2Take Visivra as the label says. Start the 20-20-20 rule.Keep the habits steady so you judge one routine.
Weeks 3–6Score your eyes each week, same time, same kind of work. The astaxanthin trial measured at 6 weeks.
Weeks 7–8Compare your scores. Keep going or ask for a refund. The guarantee lasts 60 days.
Month 3 and onIf you continue, keep your regular eye exams.A supplement does not replace checkups.

Plan based on the guarantee terms and the sources below. It is not a promise of results.

The 60-day guarantee covers the whole test above.

Visivra pros and cons

The short list, based on the research above and the maker's pages.

Pros

  • Built around lutein and zeaxanthin, the most studied pigments for the macula
  • Includes zinc, also part of the NEI formula for intermediate AMD
  • Adds astaxanthin, which had a small positive signal for screen workers over 40
  • One capsule format, 30 per bottle, easy to fit into a routine
  • 60-day money-back guarantee on every pack
  • Price drops to $49 a bottle on the 6-bottle pack

Cons

  • The amount of each ingredient is not published
  • No study on Visivra itself
  • The NEI found no benefit of its formula for people without AMD or with early AMD
  • Bilberry has weak evidence, according to the NCCIH
  • The vitamin A form is not stated, which matters for smokers and in pregnancy
  • The sales page is written like an independent review but is the maker's own

Is Visivra safe? Side effects and when to see a doctor

The maker says Visivra is "generally well tolerated" and lists no side effects. Without a label, these known risks of the ingredients matter. MedlinePlus, from the National Library of Medicine, says extra vitamin A "can build up in the body and cause serious health problems" [7], and that large amounts of zinc may cause diarrhea, cramps and vomiting [8]. The NEI says former smokers who took beta-carotene had more lung cancer [1].

SituationWhy it mattersWhat to do
You smoke or used to smokeThe NEI found more lung cancer in former smokers on beta-carotene, and Visivra does not say which form of vitamin A it uses.Ask the maker which form it is, and ask your doctor before you start.
You are pregnant, trying to get pregnant or nursingLarge doses of vitamin A can cause birth defects, according to MedlinePlus.Do not start without your doctor's approval.
You already take a multivitamin or another eye supplementVitamin A and zinc add up across products, and the amounts in Visivra are not published.Show both labels to a pharmacist.
Sudden blur, a dark spot in the center of your vision, or wavy linesThese can be signs of AMD or another eye problem, according to the NEI.See an eye doctor soon. Do not wait for a supplement.
You take medicine every dayThe NCCIH advises talking with a provider because some herbs and medicines interact.Ask your doctor or pharmacist first.

Who is Visivra for, and who should skip it?

Visivra can make sense for:

  • Adults with a recent, normal eye exam who eat few leafy greens and want lutein and zeaxanthin in one capsule.
  • Screen workers over 40 curious about astaxanthin, accepting the evidence is one small trial.

Skip it or ask a doctor first if you:

  • Have intermediate or late AMD: the NEI formula has known doses; Visivra does not.
  • Smoke or used to smoke, until you know which form of vitamin A it uses.
  • Are pregnant, nursing or take medicine.
  • Have sudden changes in your vision.

Visivra or another option: which fits what you want?

Visivra is one of several ways to get these nutrients or ease these complaints:

What habits help tired eyes, with or without Visivra?

From the AAO and the NEI. They cost little and help whatever you take.

  • 20-20-20: every 20 minutes, look at something at least 20 feet away for at least 20 seconds [10].
  • Artificial tears when your eyes feel dry, and blink on purpose [9].
  • A screen no brighter than the room, so the eyes work less [9].
  • Green, leafy vegetables: "a good source of lutein and zeaxanthin", according to the NEI [1].
  • No smoking, a risk factor for AMD [2].
  • Regular eye exams, and sooner if vision changes.

How much does Visivra cost, and which pack is the best deal?

Visivra comes in three packs on the official site, all with the 60-day guarantee; there is no single bottle. At 30 days a bottle, that is about $2.63 a day with 2 bottles, $2.30 with 3 and $1.63 with 6, before shipping.

The 2-bottle pack matches the 60-day guarantee. The 3-bottle pack is the maker's "most popular". The 6-bottle pack is the cheapest per bottle but the biggest cost up front, so buy it only if you plan a long course.

The crossed-out totals ($358, $537 and $1,074) assume $179 a bottle, a price we did not find anywhere, so the "up to $780 off" is the maker's figure. Prices checked on Nov 5, 2026.

Is Visivra legit or a scam?

Visivra is a real product with an order page, a support email, a phone line and a 60-day guarantee. What we found:

  • The mechanism. Partly backed: lutein and zeaxanthin filter blue light in the macula [6], and in the NEI study, at known doses, may delay intermediate AMD from becoming advanced [1]. No study of Visivra, and no evidence it prevents disease in healthy eyes.
  • The label. No amounts published.
  • The "review" format. The sales page calls itself an "in-depth analysis" but is the maker's own page.
  • The photos. The notice about the Food and Drug Administration on the maker's images is misspelled ("Food and Drug Astimiistration"). By law, the FDA does not approve dietary supplements before they are sold [11].
  • Complaints. On Nov 5, 2026 we found no BBB (Better Business Bureau) profile. On Trustpilot the only profile with the name is another website, with 0 reviews. No complaints, and no independent buyer reviews either.
  • Lookalike pages. Order through the official site so the guarantee applies.

Visivra FAQ

What is Visivra?

An eye supplement in capsules, 30 per bottle. The maker calls its formula the Ocular Support & Visual Clarity Matrix.

Does Visivra work?

There is no study on Visivra. Lutein and zeaxanthin are well studied for the macula, but Visivra's amounts are not published, and the NEI found no benefit of its formula without AMD.

What is the Ocular Support & Visual Clarity Matrix?

The maker's name for its blend of lutein, zeaxanthin, bilberry, astaxanthin, zinc and vitamin A, said to support clear vision by feeding the eye and cutting oxidative stress.

What are the Visivra ingredients?

Lutein, zeaxanthin, bilberry extract, astaxanthin, zinc and vitamin A, with no amounts published.

Is Visivra the same as the AREDS2 formula?

No. AREDS2 has set doses of lutein, zeaxanthin, zinc, copper and vitamins C and E. Visivra shares three of them and publishes no doses.

Can Visivra help with eye strain from screens?

Not proven. One small trial found astaxanthin helped screen workers over 40 on one measure. The AAO recommends the 20-20-20 rule.

Does Visivra protect against blue light?

Lutein and zeaxanthin filter blue light inside the eye, but the AAO says screen light does not damage the eyes.

How do I take Visivra?

The dose is not on the maker's page. A 30-capsule bottle sold as 30 days suggests one a day. Follow the label.

Does Visivra have side effects?

None listed by the maker. Too much zinc can upset the stomach and extra vitamin A builds up. Smokers and pregnant women should ask a doctor first.

How long does Visivra take to work?

No timeline from the maker. Judge it within the 60-day guarantee.

How much does Visivra cost?

$158 for 2 bottles, $207 for 3 and $294 for 6 ($79, $69 or $49 a bottle).

Where can I buy Visivra?

On the official site, where the guarantee and pack prices apply.

Is Visivra a scam?

It is a real product with a guarantee and no complaints we could find, but its doses are not published and its sales page is written like a review.
